A-Z list of individual articles

There are c. 1,860 items representing a variety of article and information pieces from as little as 50 to as great as (for ‘dance’) 15,000 words, and (for ‘song’ 25,000 words. The overall book has c. 596,000 words of A-Z information and an additional 40,000 of introduction, contributor data, timeline, bibliography, fleadh results and and analysis. Many individual names and topics which are not in the A-Z listing appear (some very frequently) in the course of the full run of the articles, typically listed under the relevant region, topic or instrument. There are 838 biographies, most listed A-Z, and others in the counties sections. With the advantage of the web adjunct to this book, additional biography and other articles can be progressively added, aiming towards an eventual full – and flexible – live, on-line digital edition.

Associated with the articles are more than 200 images and tables. There are 90 pieces of notated music, including 79 full tunes, 54 of which are played on the accompanying album. The music index lists these, as well as their locations in the text and on the album.

Item/Article title Page no.
